TV Casting News

Lost's Ian Somerhalder (Boone) finds new life in being dead as Damon, the vampire in the CW's new fall entry, The Vampire Diaries

Speaking of Lost alums, V, a remake of the cult classic starring Faye Grant, Mark Singer, Jane Badler and Robert Englund, suddenly got a whole lot more exciting with the casting of the Elizabeth Mitchell in the pilot. Mitchell also continues her role as the presumed dead Juliet as Lost prepares its final season. In other V news, Morena Baccarin (Stargate) takes on the takes on the Jane Badler role of Diana (shortened to Anna), the ultimate space lizard who liked munching on rats.

Eddie McClintock (Pete Lattimer) and Joanne Kelly (Myka Bering) hope to fill The X-Files gap with the new FX show, Warehouse 13The freshman series got a big lift with the just announced additions of Tricia Helfer and Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as guest stars. Helfer plays a Chicago-based FBI agent and Hogan takes on the role of Kelly's father. His real-life wife also plays his wife. Another Galactica alumi, Mark Sheppard (Romo Lumpkin) also also shows up. CC Pounder also has a recurring role as Mrs. Federic.

Buffy's Michelle Trachtenberg moves to NBC in Mercy, a medical drama focused on the lives of three nurses.

Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer (currently seen as Carla in Burn Notice), trades spaceships for luxury cars in The Dealership, a Canadian series. She'll play the sales manager. Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) appears in a multi-arc story on FX's Nip/Tuck as Dr. Teddy Lowe.

In another bit of inspired casting, Polly Walker (Rome) joins the premiere of Caprica, the SciFi (soon to be SyFy) prequel of Battlestar Galactica as the duplictious high priestess Sister Clarice. Also cast, Paula Malcomson (Deadwood) as the female lead.

Stephanie Jacobsen, last seen as Jesse in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, moves to Melrose Place as a medical student who pays the bills as an escort.

Shiri Appleby (Roswell) cast as a mom in the CW's mid-season series, Parental Discretion Advised. She plays an on-air radio personality, Cate Campbell. The series centers on a teenaged girl raised in foster homes who seeks out and discovers her biological parents. Kristopher Polaha who appeared in Roswell as a guest star (I Married an Alien) plays the biological dad.

Jeri Ryan (Voyager) had joined the cast of Law & Order is a recurring role of a lawyer.

Sophomore series Dollhouse adds Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Serenity) to the cast.
